Family Camp

Family Camp

Family Camp is right around the corner! May 24 to 26th—mark your calendars and be ready for some fun! We will be going to Skyline again this year. There are a lot of activities for everyone including: fishing, canoeing, archery, hayrides, swimming (weather permitting), hiking, biking, campfires, family skits, singing, s’mores, drumming, shelter building and obstacle courses. Families of all sizes and ages are welcome! Registration is online at www.campskyline.org. If you would like a room in Focus Hall register early before they fill up, cabins and tent sites are also available.

The congregation will elect new church officers, approve the terms of call for the Pastor, and review the work of the Session and Deacons in 2012.

Soup and Bread Lunch

Our youth will serve a soup and bread lunch Sunday following the congregational meeting. The BASS Church School class has painted bowls that will be silently auctioned. All proceeds from lunch and bowls will go to local food banks.

Sunday, February 10

  • Jazz Sunday: Paul Bratcher and his trio (who played for us last year) will lead the music in worship in what is often one of the most anticipated worship experiences of the year.
  • February birthdays are celebrated with cake and punch after the service. Sign your name at the kiosk if you want your name to be on the cake.
  • Adult Education: We will begin looking at the heart of our Christian Faith, its expression in other Christian and non-Christian denominations. Rev. Carlson will lead a class on next Sunday on the theological work of Thomas Aquinas at 11:30 am in the Chapel.

Shrove Tuesday“Shrove Tuesday” falls on Tuesday, February 12. Parish Life will be flipping endless pancakes for you, your friends and family starting at 5:30 pm. in the Fellowship Hall, so stop for supper and enjoy. If you would like to help, please sign up at the kiosk. Thanks.

Women’s Ministries

  • Women’s Connection, next Sunday, January 27 at 12:30 pm in the Board Room.
    Lunch hostesses will be Joan Harkness and Iris Horner. Jane Bobay will share stories of her life and her faith journey. If you don't already know her, this is your opportunity. She has served PCO for many years in many capacities, and we always look forward to Sundays when she leads the children's choir. All women are invited; no reservation needed.

Annual Meeting

The Annual Meeting of the Congregation has been called for Sunday, February 3, following worship in the sanctuary. We will elect new officers, approve the Terns of Call for the pastor and review the work of Session and Deacons.

Youth will serve a soup and bread lunch following the meeting with proceeds to go to the Souper Bowl of Caring.
