Shared Mission is financial mission support for the larger church (Presbytery, Synod and the General Assembly of PCUSA) provided by individual congregations in a specific Presbytery. The Presbyterian Church of Okemos reinitiated our donation for this mission in 2018. We belong to the Presbytery of Lake Michigan and our Presbytery uses the collections from participating congregations to create a fund called the Unified Mission. The Presbytery sets specific percentages of the fund that are allotted to each of the 3 recipients. In 2018 the General Assembly/Presbyterian Mission Agency received 38%, the Synod of the Covenant 1% and the Presbytery 61%. The PCO mission committee will continue to advocate for continued support for Shared Mission.
